Oli was a young otter.
But to others he was odder.
He loved to play,
And laugh all day,
And also play in the water.
Oli felt left out.
Kids bullied him for his snout.
It was long and weird,
The others sneered,
Oli would cry and pout.
Oli tried to stay strong.
But it didn’t last long.
He felt all alone,
The wings he had flown,
Now felt low and wrong .
Oli told his mom.
And she made him calm.
She gave him a hug,
And a big fluffy rug,
And later took him to prom.
Oli wanted to dance.
And also to frolic and prance.
But his feet were wide,
He tried to hide,
He was ashamed of his stance.
Oli went to cry.
His mom said “oh my”.
She said he was great,
That it’s not too late,
And said to look at the sky.
Oli looked at the stars.
And saw Venus and Mars.
It was so nice,
Mom gave him advice,
And his problems were very far.
Oli felt happy and merry.
He felt light like a fairy.
He loved himself,
Like you should yourself,
And made a friend named Mary.
Oli and Mary had fun.
They froliced and pranced in the sun.
Oli was jolly,
They ate a tamale,
And after they went for a run.
The otters saw how they played.
And they stopped throwing shade.
They wanted to be friends,
A kind that never ends,
And gave them bracelets of jade.
Oli was filled with glee.
And was as happy as could be.
He felt pure joy,
Was the happiest boy,
And that is the tea.
Oli had new chums.
They all would sing and hum.
Oli felt good,
Had a great childhood,
And since then has never felt glum.
THE END.
