Unexpected: Blind Love

Writer: isabellanmisabellanm

Long have I yearned,

For a princess to love.

To make my heart churn,

And feel free as a dove.

One day in the woods,

I heard her sweet song.

I thought if she could,

Be my fate all along.

I was drawn by her voice,

To a tower alone.

I knew she was my choice,

Oh her hair how it shown.

It glowed in the sun,

And shined in the dark.

Like gold that was spun,

Gave my heart a spark.

So I asked for her hand,

She delightedly agreed.

But the witch said I’m banned,

Despite how I plea.

I jumped to the ground,

Thorns stuck in my eyes.

Thought she was love that I found,

I guess that love always dies.

Blind and afraid,

I wandered the wood.

I hoped and I prayed,

Out of this there’d be good.

Will I find her once more

Or will new love come cheap

Feeling grief to my core

I shall silently weep
